From 15 October 2026, eBay Live transactions stop counting in eBay UK seller standards and service metrics, including ones completed before that date. eBay says Live will be judged separately later.
What changed
eBay's UK seller standards policy page carries a new notice. Beginning 15 October 2026, eBay Live transactions will no longer be counted in your seller standards or service metrics calculations. The page says this includes all eBay Live transactions completed before that date, so it works backwards as well as forwards.
The same notice says eBay Live seller performance will be evaluated and reported separately under a future programme. The page gives no name, date or criteria for that programme, so we cannot say what it will measure or how strict it will be.
Some background helps. Seller standards decide your seller level. The page says a level below standard can mean items placed lower in Best Match search results, lower selling limits, no access to Promoted Listings, and funds held until tracking shows delivery. Service metrics are a separate monthly look at how many of your recent sales ended in a poor buyer experience, such as an item not received.
In practice, an order made through a live show should not drag your level down, or help it, once the change applies. Because the exclusion is retroactive, a past defect from a live sale should also drop out of the calculation after 15 October.
Two cautions. First, this is the eBay UK page. We did not verify the same wording for other eBay marketplaces, so sellers elsewhere should read their own country's policy page. Second, the notice is silent on what consequences, if any, will attach to the separate Live evaluation, and we have not guessed.
The page is undated, so the date we give is the day we read it, 4 October 2026.
Who it affects
UK eBay sellers who run or plan to run eBay Live shows are the ones affected. If a bad live order has been hurting your seller level or your service metrics, the change should help from 15 October. Sellers who do not use eBay Live see no difference.
What to do
- Check your seller level and service metrics in Seller Hub before and after 15 October to see whether the recalculation moves them.
- Keep treating live orders with the same care: delivery speed and item descriptions will presumably still matter under the separate programme, though eBay has not said so.
- Read your own marketplace's policy page; do not assume the UK wording applies.
