Resale platform fees compared, October 2026: this dataset applies the published seller fee schedules of 25 marketplace variants from 12 platforms to one fixed basket, a sale of 20, 50 and 100 in each platform's own currency, with no item cost, no shipping, no promoted listing, the default category and a private or standard seller. Currencies are never converted, tax and listing fees are left out, and buyer-side fees are shown in their own column and never deducted from the seller. At a sale of 50, 9 variants charge a seller no fee. Among the 15 that do, the seller keeps between 62% (Vestiaire Collective CA) and 96.5% (Depop UK) of the price. One variant is shown as n/a because its fee could not be confirmed on the official page. Every row carries the date its official source was last read. Resale IQ publishes the data under CC BY 4.0.

At a sale of 50, eBay (UK, DE, FR, IT), Vinted (UK, EU), Leboncoin (FR), Wallapop (ES) and Kleinanzeigen (DE) charge a private seller nothing on the sale in the published schedules checked for this dataset. 15 other variants take a fee, from 3.5% to 38% of a 50 sale. Optional upgrades, promoted listings and listings beyond a free allowance can still cost extra.
Depop's published schedule for sellers priced in euro gives a fee of EUR 5.00 on a 50 EUR sale, so the seller keeps 90% before tax, shipping and item cost. In the UK and the US Depop charges a payment processing fee instead of a selling fee; see the GBP and USD tables.
It depends on the market. For private sellers on the UK, DE, FR and IT eBay sites the final value fee is zero. In the US the fee on a 50 USD sale is USD 7.20 and in Spain EUR 6.31, in both cases for most categories.
The buyer. Vinted charges the seller nothing to sell, so the seller fee in this dataset is EUR 0.00 on a 50 EUR sale. The buyer pays a separate Vinted fee, shown in its own column and never deducted from the seller.
In the UK the published schedule gives GBP 13.00 on a 50 GBP sale, so the seller keeps 74%. Below a price threshold Vestiaire Collective charges a fixed selling charge plus payment processing with a minimum, and items under its minimum listing price cannot be listed, which is why some cells in the dataset read n/a.
