Vinted Listing Hidden or Removed? What It Means and What to Do

Independent analysis from live listing data.

Short answer

A hidden Vinted listing returns once you fix it, with no appeal. A removed one can be appealed only if your message has a link, within 6 months. The reasons.

A hidden Vinted listing becomes visible again once you change it to follow the Catalogue Rules, and you do not appeal it. A removed listing broke the rules or the law, and you can appeal only if the moderation message in your Vinted inbox contains an appeal link. You then have 6 months, and one appeal per decision.

What is the difference between a hidden and a removed listing on Vinted?

Vinted's help page separates the two. If your listing is hidden, you update it to follow the Catalogue Rules and it becomes visible again. You do not need to contact Vinted or submit an appeal for a hidden listing.

A removed listing is one Vinted had to take down because it goes against the Catalogue Rules or because the item is prohibited by an applicable law, rule or regulation. For both, Vinted says it will always tell you why in a Vinted inbox message, so read that message before you change anything.

Why does Vinted hide a listing?

Vinted's page lists the reasons. It hides a listing if the item is not in line with the Catalogue Rules, or if you have not supplied proof it asks for: authenticity proof, proof that the item is not made from real fur, or proof that it is lawfully placed on the EEA or UK market. That last proof can be packaging labels naming an importer or authorised representative in the EEA or UK, a photo of the CE or UKCA mark, or labels or manuals on the item that must also be in English.

The other reasons concern the listing itself. The price, condition, size or hashtags are inaccurate, unclear or intentionally misleading. The item does not match its description. Several unrelated brands are named in one listing. The listing was uploaded to invite bids. Unrelated or excessive hashtags are used. The item is no longer available or has already sold. The description promotes another marketplace. The listing sits in the wrong catalogue category. The photos are not good quality. Or the listing contains several items but you sell only one of them, or sell all of them separately.

How do you get a hidden listing visible again?

Open the Vinted inbox message about the listing and find the reason. Then change the listing to remove it: correct the category, cut the hashtags, remove the mention of another marketplace, retake poor photos, add the proof Vinted asked for, or update the description so it matches the item.

Vinted says that once you have made the requested changes the listing becomes visible again. If one listing covers several items you sell separately, split it into one listing per item. Nothing on the page says to wait or to write to support first.

Can you appeal when Vinted removes a listing?

Maybe. Vinted says that if the message you received has no appeal link, you cannot appeal the decision through Vinted. If there is a link, use it: explain in the appeal why you believe the decision was wrong and attach any supporting evidence.

You can appeal within 6 months of receiving the decision notice, and a decision can only be appealed once. Vinted's EU help pages add that members and people without an account who report content can also challenge decisions by taking a dispute to a certified out-of-court dispute settlement body, or by going to the national courts. If you delete your personal data under GDPR article 17, Vinted warns you may not be able to make new appeals or receive notifications about ongoing ones.

What happens if the same thing keeps getting hidden or removed?

Vinted says it will have no choice but to ban the account temporarily or permanently if you repeatedly violate the Catalogue Rules or the item authenticity policy. That is a reason to fix a pattern, such as copying the same hashtag block into every listing, and not only the single listing in front of you.

Selling a lot, or selling regularly to make money, raises a different question: whether Vinted treats you as a private seller or as a business. Our Vinted Pro guide goes through what Vinted's commercial selling rules say. Before you list, the free item checker shows what comparable items are listed at, which helps with the accurate-price point above.

Do I need to appeal a hidden Vinted listing?

No. Vinted says you do not need to contact it or appeal. Update the listing to follow the Catalogue Rules and it becomes visible again.

How long do I have to appeal a removed listing?

Six months from when you receive the decision notice, and a decision can only be appealed once. Use the link in the moderation message in your Vinted inbox; with no link, Vinted says you cannot appeal through it.

Will Vinted tell me why a listing was hidden or removed?

Yes. Vinted says it will always notify you with a Vinted inbox message about why it removed or hid your listing.

Can a hidden listing lead to a ban?

Repeated violations of the Catalogue Rules or the item authenticity policy can lead to a temporary or permanent account ban, according to Vinted's help page.

Is this legal or account advice?

No. It restates Vinted's own help pages as read on 20 October 2026. Vinted can change them, and the message in your inbox decides your case.
