Vinted Pro or Private Seller? What Vinted's Commercial Selling Rules Say

Independent analysis from live listing data.

Short answer

Only Vinted Pro members may sell as a business. Which 8 countries have Pro, what Pro sellers can't list, and the penalties, from Vinted's own Q&A.

Vinted says only Vinted Pro members are allowed to sell at a profit as a business. Selling your own things is fine however many you list. Pro is free and currently available in France, Italy, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Belgium, Portugal, Spain and the UK. Where Pro is not available, you are not allowed to sell as a business on Vinted.

Does selling a lot make me a business on Vinted?

No. Vinted's Trust & Safety lead says selling a lot does not make you a business, and that a big clear-out of 200 items from your own wardrobe is completely fine. The line is intent: passing on things you owned, or buying, sourcing or making items specifically to sell on at a profit.

Vinted adds that two questions decide it. Which account are you selling through, and what are you selling? Most confusion comes from answering only one of them.

Where is Vinted Pro available?

Vinted says Pro is free and currently available in France, Italy, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Belgium, Portugal, Spain and the UK. You can register if you are a sole trader, a charity or a registered business in one of those countries.

If Pro is not available in your country, Vinted says you aren't allowed to sell as a business or on behalf of one. That covers companies, shops and professional traders. This article does not describe any way around that, and neither should you try one.

What can Pro sellers still not list?

Going Pro lets you sell as a business, but Vinted stays a second-hand marketplace. Vinted lists these as off the table for everyone, Pro included: mostly new items, multiples of the same new item (commercial stock, bulk buys, third-party suppliers or drop-shipping), brand new handmade items, and services such as rental, repair, customisation or made-to-order work.

Misleading listings are also out: no new items listed as pre-owned, and no misrepresented condition. Pro sellers must offer buyers a 14-day refund window and file their taxes correctly. For the UK side of that, see the £1,000 allowance and 30-sales rules.

What happens if a seller breaks the rules?

Vinted says it first gives a warning and applies restrictions until the seller complies. Many people then register properly or remove the prohibited listings and carry on. If a seller keeps breaking the rules, including after registering as Pro, the account may be suspended temporarily or permanently.

Vinted says it uses trained moderators, member reports and detection tools, looking at behaviour, listing patterns and account history, and that no single signal decides a case. A decision can be appealed through the link in the message or email; a person reviews each appeal, and repeat appeals are not allowed.

What to do now

Decide which side you are on: your own things, or items bought to sell. If it is the second and Pro is available where you live, register as Pro before you carry on. If Pro is not available there, Vinted's rules do not allow you to sell as a business on the platform.

These are Vinted's rules as published on 24 September 2026, not legal or tax advice, and they can change. Read the commercial selling section of the Vinted Help Centre before you act. If you buy items to resell, check any item's price in the free item checker before you pay.

Frequently asked questions

Can I sell at a profit on a normal Vinted account?

Vinted says only Vinted Pro members are allowed to sell at a profit as a business. Selling items you owned is what a personal account is for, and the number of items does not matter.

Is Vinted Pro available in Germany or Poland?

Vinted's list of 24 September 2026 is France, Italy, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Belgium, Portugal, Spain and the UK. It does not name Germany or Poland. Where Pro is not available, Vinted says you aren't allowed to sell as a business.

Does Vinted Pro cost anything?

Vinted describes Pro as a free service. Pro sellers still have extra duties, such as a 14-day refund window for buyers and correct tax filing.

Can Pro sellers list new items?

Not mostly new items. Vinted says selling mostly new items, or multiples of the same new item, is not allowed for anyone, Pro sellers included.

What if Vinted restricts my account by mistake?

You can appeal using the link in the message or email. Vinted says a person reviews each appeal and reverses the decision if a mistake was made.
