Vinted Account Banned? Appeal Rules and Your Balance
Rules from Vinted's UK Help Centre, read 20 October 2026.
Vinted allows one appeal against a ban, within 6 months of the moderation decision notice; the link is in the inbox message or email. A temporary ban lifts by itself after 7 to 30 days. After a permanent ban you can still log in to ask about withdrawing your Balance, with exceptions.

Vinted allows one appeal against a ban, and it must come within 6 months of the moderation decision notice. The appeal link is in the inbox message or email that carries the decision. A temporary ban lifts by itself after 7 to 30 days. After a permanent ban you can still log in to contact Vinted and ask to withdraw your Balance, with exceptions. This guide restates Vinted's UK help pages as read on 20 October 2026; it is not legal advice.
Is my Vinted account banned, locked or just under review?
Vinted treats these as different situations. A ban follows a moderation decision, sent as an official message in your inbox or by email. If you only received a message that your account is under review, Vinted says the situation should be resolved shortly, and there is no decision to appeal yet.
A locked account is a security step. Vinted says it may lock an account at your request, or automatically if it notices suspicious activity, so that nobody else can use your account or personal details. You may not be able to log in while it is locked. A blocked IP address is a third thing, covered at the end of this guide.
How long does a temporary Vinted ban last?
Vinted says a temporary ban ends automatically after 7 to 30 days, depending on the reason, and that you see the end date when you log in. It cannot lift the ban earlier unless you provide evidence that the account was banned by mistake.
Vinted lists these reasons for a temporary ban. Offensive behaviour towards members or the support team. Inappropriate behaviour or pictures. Repeatedly selling items the Catalogue Rules prohibit. Selling counterfeits. Promoting selling outside the Vinted payment system. Selling for commercial purposes when only Pro sellers are allowed to.
What can you still do after a permanent ban?
Vinted says a permanently banned member can still reach the account to contact Vinted about unbanning it, and to withdraw earnings from the Vinted Balance. When you log in you are taken to your inbox, and the Balance sits under your profile.
Vinted adds a warning: a withdrawal may not be possible if it poses a risk to other members, involves a compromised account, or if the ban is due to a risk of fraud, as determined by its payment service provider. A permanently banned account also cannot be deleted for safety reasons. How long a payout takes once it is allowed is a separate question, covered in our guide to when Vinted pays you.
Which reasons lead to a permanent ban?
Vinted lists these, among others. Selling items prohibited by law. Fraud or scamming. Multiple accounts; a standard account plus a Pro account with different email addresses and phone numbers is allowed. Repeatedly selling counterfeits or breaking the Catalogue Rules. Selling live pets. Repeatedly uploading pictures with nudity or provocative posing. Repeatedly ignoring the team's messages. Providing services not allowed for Pro sellers.
One reason matters to anyone who resells for income: repeatedly selling for commercial purposes as a private seller. Vinted says that if your account is banned for this, it will require you to convert to Vinted Pro when applicable, and you can only convert within 6 months of receiving the ban notice. Where the private-versus-business line sits is in our guide to the Vinted Pro rule.
How do you appeal a Vinted ban?
Open the inbox message or email with the official moderation decision and use the appeal link in it. Vinted asks you to explain why you think the decision was wrong and to attach any supporting evidence. You can appeal once, and within 6 months of receiving the decision notice.
Vinted also says you can take the decision to a certified out-of-court dispute settlement body or bring an action before national courts under local law. Its pages do not say how long an appeal takes or what evidence wins, so do not plan around a date. If your listings, not your account, were taken down, read why a Vinted listing is hidden or removed instead.
Why does Vinted say my IP address is blocked?
If you see "Access to this site is blocked for this computer" or "Access to Vinted has been revoked for your IP", Vinted gives three possible causes: you share an IP address with someone whose IP was blocked, you are in a country where Vinted is not available (it names India and China as examples), or your IP was blocked for illegal, fraudulent or offensive activity on Vinted.
Vinted stresses that a blocked account, a blocked IP address and a blocked member are different things. If a shared network is the cause, the page does not give a fix, so Vinted support is the place to ask. Before you restock, check what similar items are listed at with the free item checker.
