Reselling is a seasonal business. Buy against the season, sell into it — but only if you can afford to hold. Jackets sell for more per unit than hoodies, which is exactly why coats bought cheap in summer and sold into winter carry the season's best margin. Here's the rhythm.

Buy low season, sell high season
Coats, knitwear and boots are cheapest in spring and summer, and sell best from October to January.
Shorts, dresses, swimwear and light trainers are cheapest in autumn/winter and sell from April to July.

The cash-flow trap
Holding stock for six months means your money earns nothing while you wait. Only buy far off-season when the discount is genuinely large — large relative to the brand's actual average sale price, not to retail.
Beginners should stay closer to the current season until cash flow is comfortable.
