Depop Fees Explained: What Sellers Pay in the UK, US and EU (2026)

Depop's cost to a seller depends on where you sell. In the UK our fee data shows no Depop selling fee, only payment processing of 2.9% + £0.30 on the item and the postage you charge; in the US it is 3.3% + $0.45; in the EU it is a 10% fee. A £25 item with £3 postage costs £1.11 in the UK. Promoted listings are optional and cost more. Figures from Depop's seller fees page, checked 4 October 2026.

Fees by market

Depop's help centre page for seller fees and charges is the source here. We read it on 4 October 2026 and built the calculator from it. Because Depop has changed its fee structure in the past, check the date before you rely on any figure.

Worked examples

UK: a £25 item with £3 postage charged. Processing is 2.9% of £28 plus £0.30, which is £1.11. You receive £26.89 before your own postage cost. At £10 plus £3 postage it is £0.68; at £60 plus £4 it is £2.16.

US: a $25 item with $5 shipping charged. Processing is 3.3% of $30 plus $0.45, which is $1.44, leaving $28.56. At $60 plus $7 shipping it is $2.66.

EU: a €30 item with €4.50 shipping. Without the Depop label the 10% applies to €34.50, which is €3.45. With the label it applies to €30 only, which is €3.00. Payment processing charges, if any apply to your account, are not in these numbers.

In all three, the flat part of the UK and US charge hurts most on cheap items. A £10 sale loses almost 7%; a £60 sale loses about 3.6%.

Promoted listings and other optional costs

Depop's promoted listings are optional and you choose the percentage. Our calculator lets you enter the percentage you chose; the example uses 12%. On £25 plus £3 postage, a 12% promotion adds £3.36 on top of the £1.11 processing, a combined £4.47. Promote only items where that still leaves you comfortable with the price.

Shipping is not a Depop fee, but it decides your margin. If you charge postage, it sits inside the fee base. If you offer free postage, it comes out of your payout instead.

How to price around the fees

1. Start from what you want to receive. Add your cost for the item if you bought it, and the postage you will pay.

2. Use the Depop fee calculator (or the US and EU versions) to see the price that leaves you that amount. It shows the processing line and the official source.

3. Check comparable listings in the same brand, size and condition. Your fee maths sets a floor; the market sets the ceiling.

4. Leave room for offers. If you expect buyers to haggle, price slightly above your floor rather than at it.

Photos matter more than a 1% fee difference

Depop is a visual feed, and square crops are the norm. A tidy, centred first picture does more for a listing than shaving a percentage point. The free listing photo tool crops to square with padding, lets you pick a white or light grey background, and runs in your browser, so nothing is uploaded.

A quick way to compare Depop with other apps

Take one real item and one real postage cost, then run it through three calculators. Say a jacket at £35 with £4 postage charged. On Depop UK, processing is 2.9% of £39 plus £0.30, which is £1.43, leaving £37.57. On Vinted UK the selling fee is £0, so the figure is £35, because Vinted's postage is paid by the buyer to the carrier and not added to your payout. On eBay UK for a UK buyer, a private seller pays no final value fee, so £39 arrives.

That comparison is a first filter only. It tells you what stays with you, not how fast the item moves. Depop's audience skews towards trend-led and vintage pieces; Vinted's buyers browse by size and brand filters; eBay buyers often search for exact items. Match the item to the audience before you chase a fee difference of a pound or two.

One more point: fees in your payout are rarely the biggest leak. Returns, a poor first photo, and postage underpriced by a pound or two cost more over a month of listings than the processing line. Track what each sale really paid you in the profit tracker for a month, then decide where to focus.
