Weekly data story · 5 to 11 October 2026

78.5% of asking prices on tracked-brand Vinted listings that left the shelf were a multiple of €5

We looked at 1,345 distinct listings from the brands we track (largest samples: Ami Paris, Canada Goose, Golden Goose, Stone Island and Maison Margiela) that our crawler saw leave Vinted shelves in France, Germany, Spain, Italy and Portugal, 5 to 11 October 2026. 78.5% asked a multiple of €5 (95% interval 76.2% to 80.6%). Above €100 it is 89.0%. Under €20 it is 49.6%. These are observed departures and asking prices, not confirmed sales.

Three numbers to quote

  • 78.5% of 1,345 asking prices were a multiple of €5, and 54.0% a multiple of €10. The median asking price was €81.70.
  • 89.0% of the 554 listings asking €100 or more used a €5 step, against 49.6% of the 113 asking under €20.
  • €50 and €130 tied as the most common tags (56 listings each, 4.2%). 85.7% of the €130 listings are Golden Goose, so that tag mostly reflects one brand.

Table 1. Share of asking prices that are a multiple of €5 or €10, by market, 5 to 11 October 2026. Only listings seen in a single country (836 of 1,345); 509 listings appear on several country sites and are left out here. Per-country samples are small, so read differences of a few points as noise.

Where one brand supplies most of a tag, the tag says more about that brand's listings than about Vinted sellers in general. We do not read seller identity, so we cannot say how many sellers are behind a tag.

What to do with it

When you compare an item against live listings, expect the field to bunch on €5 and €10 steps, so one listing at €50 is a tag, not a market price. Use the median of several comparable listings instead. That is what our free item check does: it returns a buy-below price, or UNKNOWN when the sample is too thin.

What we did not claim

Method

  • Observed departures = listings our crawler saw on a public Vinted shelf and later saw leave it (departure observed, not deleted by us, matched to its shelf, category known, price above 0), for the fixed set of brands we track. Window by departure timestamp (UTC dates). Price = last asking price seen, converted to EUR. Each listing is counted once, even when it appears on several Vinted country sites; the country table uses only listings seen in a single country. Aggregates only.
  • Window: 5 to 11 October 2026 (UTC dates), 6 of 7 days with departures. Sample: 1,345 distinct listings (2,273 market-level rows before removing duplicates across country sites) across 36 brand labels after merging spelling variants; 1,056 are a multiple of €5. Interval: Wilson 95%, which treats listings as independent and so is narrower than the true uncertainty.

Questions about this data

What is an observed departure?

A listing our crawler saw on a public Vinted shelf and later saw leave it. A listing can leave because it sold, but also because the seller deleted or hid it, so we do not call departures sales. Prices are the last asking price we saw, not what anyone paid.

Does this mean round prices sell better?

No. We counted the price tags of listings that left the shelf. We did not measure listings still on the shelf, so we cannot say whether departing listings are rounder than the rest.

Why no brand ranking?

Crawl coverage is uneven by brand and by day, so brand volumes in a single week describe the crawl, not Vinted. Table 4 above shows price-tag habits only, for brands with at least 100 departures.
