Best poly mailers and shipping boxes for resellers
Match the packaging to the item. Folded clothes go in a poly mailer, shoes and boxed items go in a small cardboard box with paper or bubble wrap, and small fragile items go in a padded bubble mailer. Choose the smallest size the item fits in, because carriers price parcels by weight and size bands. We name no brands here: packaging is a commodity, so compare the price per piece on the listing, and weigh a packed parcel before you quote postage.
How we pick
We compare maker specs, label sizes for Vinted, eBay and Depop, and cost per parcel, and update picks monthly. Specs come from each maker's own page (linked under every product, read on October 4, 2026); where a spec is a maker's claim, it says so. We use no star ratings or review scores. Prices change daily, so we show only the maker's dated price where one exists and send you to the store for today's price.
Folded clothes
T-shirts, jeans, knitwear and other items that fold flat.
- Poly mailers
Light and flat, so they add little weight to the parcel. Pick a size that fits the folded item with little spare room.
- Packing tape
Close the flap and the seams of a heavier parcel with tape, not only the built-in strip.
Shoes, bags and boxed items
Anything that would be crushed or bent in a soft mailer.
- Small cardboard shipping boxes
Rigid, stackable and the usual choice for shoes. Buy the size you use most, not a mixed set.
- Bubble wrap or kraft paper
Fills the empty space so the item does not move in the box.
- A scale
A packed box can land in a heavier price band than you expect: weigh it before you quote postage.

Small, fragile or valuable items
Jewellery, accessories, small electronics and anything that must not be squashed.
- Padded bubble mailers
Cushioning in a flat envelope: lighter than a box for small items.
- A label printer
Only once you print labels at home every week.

Compare couriers per parcel once you ship several a week.

Smallest size that fits
Carrier price bands follow weight and parcel size. A mailer one size too big can push a clothing parcel into a dearer band, so measure the folded item and keep spare room small.
Check your marketplace rules
Marketplaces and their carriers publish maximum sizes and weights per service. Read the limits for the service you use before you buy a box size in bulk.
Reuse where you can
Vinted's own help suggests small flexible packaging and reusing it where possible. Reused boxes and mailers cost nothing; only buy new ones for items that need protection.
Packaging cost per parcel
Packaging cost per parcel = price of the pack ÷ pieces in the pack, plus tape and filler. Example with round numbers, not real prices: a EUR 12 pack of 100 mailers is 12 cents a parcel. On a EUR 3.50 sale of an item that cost you EUR 1, that is the difference between a thin and a clear margin once postage and fees come off.
Run your own numbers through the fee calculator and the shipping comparer before you buy 500 of anything.
Questions
What do I use to ship clothes when I resell?
A poly mailer in the smallest size the folded item fits. Add tape on the seams if the parcel is heavier than a folded T-shirt.
Poly mailer or box for shoes?
A box. Shoes keep their shape in a rigid box and can be bent or crushed in a soft mailer. Fill the empty space with paper or bubble wrap.
Does packaging size change the postage price?
Yes. Carriers price parcels by weight and size bands, so the smallest packaging that protects the item usually costs least to send. Check the band for your carrier in the shipping comparer.
How are these picks chosen?
By item type, not by brand: packaging is a commodity, so we name no brands and link to search results for each type, checked 9 October 2026. Links go through our own redirect and we may earn a commission on some of them.
